Sports Therapy at Crestacre Chiropractic

Its for anyone whose body is being held back by injury, tightness or the wear of regular activity. You do not need to be a competitive athlete to benefit. Weekend runners, gym goers, manual workers and people simply trying to stay active all come to us when a nagging injury will not settle. Our sports therapist assesses the problem properly, treats it directly and then guides you through the rehabilitation that gets you back to doing what you enjoy.

We welcome patients from Walsall, Aldridge, Lichfield, Cannock, Brownhills, Walsall Wood and Pelsall, with free parking right outside the clinic.

Sports therapy is a focused branch of healthcare concerned with the prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of injuries to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. It blends hands on treatment with movement based recovery, so that you are not only relieved of pain in the short term but rebuilt to perform and resist re injury in the long term. The emphasis is always on restoring function, not just calming symptoms.

Every course of sports therapy begins with a careful assessment to pinpoint the source of your problem and understand how it affects your movement. From there your therapist designs a programme around your specific injury, your activity level and the goals you want to reach. We keep you informed at each stage so you understand both the treatment and the part you play in your own recovery.

Our sports therapy service includes:

  • Injury assessment and diagnosis to establish exactly what is wrong
  • Sports massage and soft tissue therapy to release tension and aid recovery
  • Post injury rehabilitation to rebuild strength and confidence safely
  • Mobility and flexibility training for joints and surrounding muscle
  • Personalised exercise programmes you can continue at home
  • Injury prevention techniques to reduce the chance of the problem returning

Conditions We Help With

Sports therapy is well suited to sports injuries and overuse complaints, from muscle strains and ligament sprains to tendon problems and post training soreness. It also complements our wider clinical work, so if your assessment points towards a related issue such as back pain or plantar fasciitis, we can draw on the full range of treatments available at the clinic.

Meet Your Sports Therapist

Continuously advancing our techniques to deliver the highest standard of treatment

Lydia Perry is the sports therapist at Crestacre and holds a BSc in her field, with five years of hands-on experience treating active patients. She is skilled at reading how the body moves, identifying the true source of an injury and building practical recovery plans that fit around training and daily life. Patients value her down to earth manner and her focus on getting them back to full activity rather than settling for partial improvement.
